Winter Solstice 2024

Our earth is divided into two equal parts by an imaginary line called the equator. The northern part will have the shortest day of the year today (21st December). This day is known as the winter solstice or December solstice.

The December solstice marks the beginning of the winter season in many countries. It happens when the sun is the farthest away from the North side of the Earth. 

In India, the solstice will take place at 02:49 pm. The sunrise will take place at 7:10 am and sunset at 5:39 pm. 

This is an important day in many countries. It is celebrated with cultural events and festivities.
